Supporting the RVS Vintage Tea Party
Every year the Royal Voluntary Service Vintage Tea Party campaign runs across the country, and this year, despite the many challenges of the past few months, we have been over the moon to see homeowners our developments getting back into their lounges and bistros to celebrate the amazing work of this brilliant charity.
As well as being a national institution for community volunteering, the RVS has been at the vanguard of the volunteer response to Covid-19, helping to mobilise an army of volunteers across the country, firstly as NHS Responders, and more recently as part of ‘Jab’s Army’ to support the hugely successful vaccination effort.
The RVS was the main charity partner of McCarthy Stone in 2017, with over £260,000 raised by employees, homeowners, and partners for the cause, so we are delighted to be working with them again this summer and helping to raise funds for their continued work in the face of the many challenges created by the Covid pandemic.
Safety of McCarthy Stone employees and homeowners remains paramount throughout, and a huge thank you must go out to the House and Estate Managers across the many McCarthy Stone developments, who have done an incredible job safeguarding their homeowners throughout this difficult time, going above and beyond to ensure that they are not just kept safe, but also supported with any additional challenges, from collecting shopping to carrying out befriending calls to those experiencing anxiety or loneliness.
We have had some lovely images in from two of our developments, Scudamore Place in Gloucester and Wellington Court in Epsom, and as you can see, everyone is really happy to be able to once again connect with their friends and neighbours. Well done to Nicole (House Manager, Scudamore Place) and Kim (House Manager, Wellington Court) who have raised £175 for the RVS. A big thank you also to Katrina, Catherine and Max from the McCarthy Stone Community Engagement Team who have worked exceptionally hard to support these events. Well done team!
