Our Trustees oversee strategy and governance, supported by an Operating Committee responsible for delivering our charitable objectives. Daily operations are led by our Foundation Manager.
Chair of Trustees
John Tonkiss is Chair of the Board of Trustees and became Chief Executive Officer of McCarthy Stone in September 2018, having previously been the Group’s Chief Operating Officer. He joined McCarthy Stone in February 2014 and is Chair of the Sustainability Committee.
Adam Batty is Group General Counsel and Company Secretary of McCarthy Stone where he is responsible for corporate governance, compliance, legal and regulatory advice, and overseeing the Sustainability strategy. Adam is also a Trustee of the Selfridges Foundation.
Paula is an independent HR consultant and Executive Coach with extensive experience in the construction, financial services and telecoms sectors. Paula is experienced in delivering improved business performance, organisational effectiveness, culture change and high levels of employee engagement.
Paul Teverson is Director of Communications at McCarthy Stone, where he manages corporate, financial, public affairs and internal communications. Paul led the McCarthy Stone charitable partnerships with RVS and Coram Beanstalk and is part of the company's Sustainability committee.
Martin Edwards has over 25 years’ experience of charity management and voluntary roles, ranging from overseas aid to supporting UK families in crisis. He has been CEO of Julia's House Hospice Charity since 2005 and provides a high level of third sector and CQC governance experience to the board.
Graeme Marsh manages the daily operations of the Foundation and has worked in the charity sector since 2015. He has worked across the UK and Africa, specialising in community engagement, fundraising, and charity operations. He is a Certified member of the Chartered Institute of Fundraising.
