Grants, Older People

Spring Grants to open on February 16th , 2024

On February 16th, 2024 we will once again be opening our Spring Grants Programme.

This year, to help with managing the large volume of applications received, we have taken a more focused approach, with the aim to provide greater clarity for any organisation considering applying for funding.

We know that applying for funding can be a time intensive undertaking and so we will be concentrating our work on loneliness and social isolation during 2024. Our Spring programme will be focusing on QUALITY of relationships, with support targeting at befriending and other 1-1 direct support services. In Autumn, we will be focusing on QUANTITY of relationships, aiming to make more spaces available for older people to connect with others in their community.

Both grants rounds will be focused on the country’s most deprived areas for older people, as there is clear evidence to show that deprivation widens the health gap and leads to all around poorer outcomes for older people experiencing loneliness or social isolation. In the Grants Guidance listed below you will find a list of locations that we will be focusing on.

In addition, we have reduced our income limit to £250,000 p.a. for organisations we support. Both the Foundation’s team and trustees feel this is where our relatively small grants can have the greatest benefit. Throughout 2023, the average size of organisation supported by the foundation was £97,000, so we don’t anticipate this restriction having any negative impacts on who we are able to fund.

Please do review our Grant Guidance at the link below, and we hope to see you at our Webinar on Thursday 15th February for further information on our programmes.
