Foundation seeks more partners for ‘Welcome Wednesdays’ in 2024

After a successful pilot phase, we are now looking to expand our ‘Welcome Wednesday’ social sessions for Over 65’s.

If you run a Community Cafe (particularly in an area with higher than average levels of deprivation affecting older people) and would like to work with us on hosting a monthly session for older people in your community, then we would love to hear from you.

We are looking for at least 6 more partners in the coming months to join our existing projects in Poole, Bournemouth, Northampton (launching this week) and Southend-on-Sea (launching June).

Sessions last for around 3 hours, with hot food, a small sweet treat and a hot drink provided to people over 65 for free. Funding for this is agreed with our Foundation and paid in advance. Where possible we will supply volunteers to help with meeting and greeting, but we do ask that our partners provide all back/front of house services.

We will provide a brief training guide, posters, and most importantly, the funds to make this happen.

We do ask that your venue helps support this venture, so we are looking to partner wherever possible with organisations constituted as a non-profit/social enterprise (e.g., a registered charity, CIC or a company limited by Guarantee with an explicit Articles of Association outlining a non-profit/community mission).

If you would like to find out more information about how to get involved, contact our Head of Foundation, Graeme Marsh via our Contact page or via email at [email protected]

Thanks!
